de waterkant

This property is situated in the culturally vibrant area of De Waterkant, which clings to the slopes of Signal Hill in Cape Town.

The owner’s brief was to preserve the unique character of the home while bringing light into the interior spaces, especially to the kitchen area located in the basement of the house. The architect created a double volume in the dining area, producing an amazing sense of height in an otherwise compact space. Using the bulthaup b1 range, the design made the kitchen island the focal point – the area where the cooking and entertaining would happen.
